
Director of Arts Development and Promotion

MISSIONS:
Under the authority of a Director, the Directorate for the
Development and Promotion of the Arts is responsible for:
– the development and implementation of the Government’s policy on the development and promotion of the arts, in conjunction with the relevant administrations;
– the development and promotion of creation and production in the fields of performing, visual and applied arts;
– the organization and supervision of the dissemination of works in the field of performing, visual and applied arts;
– the promotion of all forms of expression and dissemination of the performing arts, in conjunction with the relevant administrations;
– the definition of training programs in the fields of performing, visual and applied arts, in conjunction with the National Institute of Arts and Culture;
– studies on public artistic practices in the fields of visual and specific performing arts.
It includes:
– the Sub-Directorate of Performing Arts;
– the Sub-Directorate of Visual and Applied Arts.
the Sub-Directorate of Performing Arts
Under the authority of a Deputy Director, the Performing Arts Department
is responsible for:
– the implementation of government policy in the fields of opera, choreography, drama, and literature;
– the organization and supervision of the dissemination of works in the fields concerned;
– the development and promotion of the creation and definition of training programs in the fields of the arts concerned, in conjunction with the National Institute of Arts and Culture;
– the creation and updating of the national cultural map;
– studies on public artistic practices in the fields of the arts concerned.
It includes:
– the Lyric and Choreographic Arts Department;
– the Dramatic and Literary Arts Department.
Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Lyric and Choreographic Arts Department
is responsible for:
– Monitoring the implementation of Government policy, particularly in the areas of classical and contemporary music, choral and epic singing, and traditional and contemporary dances;
– Supervising and supporting the production of works and performances in the relevant fields;
– Developing and monitoring the national cultural activities program;
– Contributing to the creation of the national cultural map;
– Developing and updating the database of professionals, venues, and events in the field of opera;
– Supporting the activities of institutions and venues that present professional performances;
– the study and implementation of training policies in the field of opera.
Under the authority of a Head of Department, the
Dramatic and Literary Arts Department is responsible for:
– Monitoring the implementation of Government policy, particularly in the fields of theatre, epic storytelling, poetry, novels and essays;
– Supervising and supporting the production of works and shows in the relevant arts;
– Developing and monitoring the national cultural activities program;
– Contributing to the creation of the national cultural map;
– Developing and updating the database of professionals, venues and events in the dramatic and literary arts;
– Monitoring the implementation of training policies in the relevant arts.
From the Sub-Directorate of Visual and Applied Arts
Under the authority of a Deputy Director, the Sub-Directorate of
Visual and Applied Arts is responsible for:
– the implementation of government policy in the fields of visual, applied and multimedia arts;
– the organization and supervision of the dissemination of works in the fields of the arts concerned;
– the development and implementation of the Government’s policy on the development and promotion of creation in the aforementioned fields of the arts;
– the development and promotion of creation in the fields of the arts concerned;
– the definition of training programs in the fields of the arts concerned, in conjunction with the National Institute of Arts and Culture;
– studies on the artistic practices of the public in the fields of the arts concerned.
It includes:
– the Visual Arts Department;
– the Applied Arts Department;
– the Multimedia Arts Department.
Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Visual Arts Department
is responsible for:
– Monitoring the implementation of government policy in the fields of painting, sculpture, ceramics and art photography;
– Studying and implementing policies for the training and professional integration of artists, in conjunction with the relevant administrations;
– Participating in the development and implementation of regulations relating to initial, specialized and continuing training in the field of visual arts;
– Maintaining the register of professionals in the visual arts sector.
Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Applied Arts Department
is responsible for:
– Monitoring the implementation of Government policy, particularly in the field of arts and crafts, in conjunction with the relevant administrations;
– Implementing Government policy in the fields of fashion, haute couture, hairdressing and culinary arts;
– Guiding and supporting the creation of works and productions in the relevant arts fields;
– Developing and monitoring the cultural activities program;
– Guiding and promoting amateur practices;
– Contributing to the development of the cultural map in the field of specific arts;
– Monitoring the implementation of training policies in the relevant arts fields.
Under the authority of a Head of Department, the
Multimedia Arts Department is responsible for:
– Monitoring the implementation of Government policy, particularly in the fields of digital arts, graphic arts and design;
– Guiding and supporting the creation of works and productions in the aforementioned fields;
– Developing and monitoring the cultural activities program;
– Guiding and promoting amateur practices;
– Creating the cultural map in the field of multimedia arts;
– Monitoring the implementation of training policies in the field of multimedia arts.
